Tu Maia project looks to improve Whanau physical health and wellbeing and increase cultural self-esteem by providing an innovative noho marae programme that will incorporate traditional and complimentary practices alongside healthy messages, tools and information. This kaupapa Maori programme is designed to empower Whanau to make positive healthy lifestyle changes. There will be particular focus on reducing the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases by incorporating nutrition and exercise as key components of the programme.
