The purpose of the Māori Disability service is to ensure Māori with disabilities and kaumatua have an improved level of quality of life and independence. This will be achieved by facilitating improved access to disability support services and supporting ngā kakano through their contact with the needs assessment, service coordination (NASC Services) and referred services (Aged Residential Care, Home Support) process. The staff can act as advocates during the delivery of services through providing guidance, advice and interpretation of individual and whānau needs for effective service delivery.
