Hauora services

Hauora services provide comprehensive, culturally responsive health and wellbeing support grounded in the four dimensions of hauora: taha tinana (physical health), taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing), taha whānau (family and social wellbeing), and taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing). Services are designed to meet the needs of individuals, families/whānau, and communities across the life course, from early years to kaumātua.

Key features

  • Whānau-centred care: Services actively involve family/whānau in assessment, planning and care, recognising the central role of relationships and collective wellbeing.

  • Cultural competence: Care is informed by te ao Māori values, tikanga and language where appropriate, and tailored to respect cultural identities and practices.
