We are seeking a reliable and professional Kaitiaki – Security to join our Putikitiki team. This role is about keeping our people and place safe, ensuring whānau, kaimahi and visitors feel secure and supported.Key responsibilities
Provide a visible and reassuring presence on site
Monitor facilities, manage entry points, and maintain a safe environment
De-escalate situations calmly and respectfully, guided by tikanga and manaaki
Respond to incidents quickly and appropriately
Work closely with kaimahi to support the smooth running of Putikitiki
About you
Proven experience in security or related roles
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with whānau and staff
Knowledge of tikanga Māori and commitment to kaupapa Māori values
Security licence preferred (or willingness to obtain)

About the Role:
As a Kaiwhiriwhiri Whānau, you’ll walk alongside whānau, helping them to navigate life’s challenges and achieve their goals. You’ll support whānau to dream big, plan ahead, and access the services and resources they need to thrive.
This role is grounded in manaaki, kōrero, and action – building strong relationships and providing practical, wraparound support in a way that is culturally safe, strengths-based, and whānau led.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Working one-on-one with whānau to develop tailored plans for change and wellbeing
• Supporting whānau to access housing, education, health, employment and social supports
• Advocating for whānau needs and aspirations
• Building trusting relationships based on aroha, tautoko, and tikanga Māori
• Collaborating with other services and kaimahi across Te Kōhao and beyond
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
• Is passionate about empowering whānau Māori
• Has strong communication, relationship, and problem-solving skills
• Can work independently and as part of a team
• Is comfortable working in kaupapa Māori environments and with te reo me ōna tikanga
• Has a full driver’s licence and is confident navigating systems (MS Office, case notes, referrals etc.)
• Experience in social services, health, education or community work is a bonus – but the right attitude, values and heart for whānau are essential

What You'll Be Doing:
Supporting wahine hapū and their whānau across the pregnancy and early parenting journey.
Providing culturally grounded, whānau-centred care from birth to age five.
Working collaboratively with our wider team; midwife, navigators, and clinicians.
Promoting hauora and wellbeing through kaupapa Māori education and support.
What We’re Looking For:
A registered Midwife with a current APC.
Passion for working with whānau Māori and a heart for community.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence in navigating both clinical settings and te ao Māori spaces.

This role focuses on supporting whānau from prevention and early detection through to treatment, survivorship, or palliative care — ensuring they receive timely, culturally grounded, and equitable support.
