The Main Hall at Te Whare Maui Event Centre is a spacious, adaptable space designed to host everything from weddings and celebrations to conferences, performances, and community gatherings. With its open layout and high ceiling, the Main Hall can be easily configured for dining, theatre-style seating, or standing events.
Large enough to accommodate both intimate and large groups, the space includes access to sound and AV capabilities, flexible lighting, and nearby breakout rooms. The Main Hall’s practical design allows you to bring your vision to life while maintaining a war, welcoming atmosphere grounded in manaakitanga.

Our fully equipped Kitchen is designed to support events of all sizes, offering everything you need for food preparation and service. Features include a microwave, large fridge, silver Turbofan convection oven with stand, food warmer, dishwasher, Electrolux professional steamer, four bar fridges, two steel tables, two large sinks, a spacious counter area, and a serving window with direct access to the Dining Hall.

One of the special features of our venue is our Taonga shop. Guests can explore meaningful, handcrafted pieces and take home a taonga or gift for themselves or others. Open on weekdays and during events, the shop operates in conjunction with Te Kōhao Health’s main store. Visit us at your next event or anytime you’re seeking a special piece of Māori culture.

Te Whare Maui is located on Maui Street in Pukete, Hamilton, a predominantly industrial area with most businesses operating during the week. This means Te Whare Maui isn’t subject to the same noise restrictions or capacity limits as venues in residential or central city areas — making it perfect for live music, large gatherings, and events that run later into the evening. Our guests enjoy the freedom to celebrate their way, without the usual venue limitations.
Our facility is fully enclosed and watched over by our Pou, beautifully crafted on-site by our Master Carvers — a symbol of protection and guardianship. The entire space is well-lit and supported by 24/7 security monitoring, giving hirers peace of mind and allowing events, even after dark, to be enjoyed safely and without worry.

Adjacent to Te Whare Maui’s Front Entrance, our Deck Area is included with every booking. This outdoor space is perfect for mingling, dining, or relaxing, with tables and chairs provided. A large cover protects against moderate weather, and soft deck lighting creates a calm, cosy atmosphere for evening events.
